1-Auxiliary Port
Auxiliary port in Cisco 1800 series routers is used for connecting external modem that is used as back-up for network access.
2-Console Cable
Console cable is in Cisco 1800 routers is used to connect external modem with router. On one side of the cable is DB-9 connector that is attached with modem and on other side is RJ-45 connector that is inserted in router.
3-DB-9 Connector
DB-9 connector is used in Cisco routers to connect modem with router.
4-Modem
External modem is used as back-up for network access.

3 DB-9 Connector

 

1-Console Port
Console port is used to connect router with PC or Laptop for configuration purpose of Cisco 1800 series routers.
2-Roll-over Cable

Roll-over cable is used to connect router with PC. At one side of cable is RJ-45 connector and on other side is the DB-9 connector.
3-DB-9 Connector
DB-9 connector is used at one end of roll-over cable for connecting PC with router. DB-9 connector is used towards PC side.

SYS PWR
SYS PWR LED goes ON when router is powered ON successfully and IOS is loaded.
SYS ACT
SYS ACT LED goes ON when router is transmitting or receiving data.

Network-Card Slot
In Cisco 1841 Router on the backside there are designed 2 Network-Card slots for installing WAN Interface Cards for further extension when required in the network.
Fast Ethernet Ports
Fast Ethernet ports are ports having data transmission rate 100 Mbps.
Compact Flash Card Drive
This interface is used for inserting external memory card in router.
CF
CF LED shows the flash memory processing. When its ON it shows Flash memory is being accessed. Never remove Flash memory card when LED is ON as it may cause data loss.
AIM
AIM LED when ON shows presence of AIM in the AIM slot.
USB Port
USB port is used to connect USB device with router making it another memory center for making backup of our configurations.
FE Lights

FDX (FE 0/0) Green When ON shows full-duplex operation, when OFF shows half-duplex operation
100 (FE 0/0) Green When ON shows 100 Mbps link, When OFF shows 10 Mbps link
Link (FE 0/0) Green On shows successfully connectivity of router with LAN through Ethernet port 0
FDX (FE 0/1) Green When ON shows full-duplex operation, when OFF shows half-duplex operation
100 (FE 0/1) Green When ON shows 100 Mbps link, When OFF shows 10 Mbps link
Link (FE 0/1) Green On shows successfully connectivity of router with LAN through Ethernet port 1

 

Console Port
Console port is used to connect router with PC for configuration purpose. Console port is RJ-45 port. Roll-over cable is used to connect router with PC.
Power Switch
Power switch is used to manually turn ON or OFF router.
Ground
It’s the port where hardware is grounded.
Power Input
Through this port electric power is supplied to Cisco 1841 router.
Serial Number
Serial number is used for vendors record.
